Someone else on your router

If you see someone else on your router, you should do more than just change your SSID and Password, you should use the block MAC address, or better yet (but it’s a bit more to manage) filter by MAC address which only allows devices you own or authorize to connect to your wireless. You can easily find the MAC address for your computers and phones. I won’t go into it here, but just search for how to find out your MAC address, then put those addresses into your router. Also, the MAC addresses should be listed in your router as connected or previously connected devices. Filtering by MAC, while it is possible to get around, is more work than what it’s worth to steal someone’s home internet.

Changing your Router name access password does no good if you do not set up a password to the router setup. Anyone can get a default password to your router setup off the internet. Some routers require a hardwired connection to enter the setup. SOME DON’T. If you find you can’t get on the internet anymore, you might check your router to see if some one has hijacked it.

Google will control everything

Google will actually control most of the revenues streams, be it through Advertising or enhanced services. With their market share dwindling and customer base shrinking, Apple will see their revenues evaporate. Microsoft even though they are trying to have their OS adopted by more smarthone entrants are failing and will essentially be in the same weak spot as Apple. Google is in a much stronger position, as they will equip 95% of smartphones in a few year’s time – the Chinese brands will take control over the market (Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo, One+, …), and Android is their platform. Google have a very neat game and are uniquely positioned. Apple and Microsoft will be squeezed, as they will not manage to capture more of the Smartphone market. Apple by default and lack of foresight and Microsoft by failure. Google will capture 95% of the mobile world, just like Microsoft did in the PC world…Microsoft will survive because of the reliance of businesses on their professional Solutions (Office, SharePoint, etc.) until Google take that space away from them by offering equivalent solutions. Google will obtain power to rival governments and this is happening without anyone noticing. Once they control the global flux of private data and realize their might, we will fall under their dictatorship. That’s when the global Google government will start space colonies on other planets…Mark my words – if you live that long.

Donate compute

The idea of using idle CPU time to work on science problems has been around for decades (I believe the first project was SETI@home). The twist here is the use of mobile platforms which makes a lot of sense since they spend most of their time twiddling their digital thumbs, particularly during their overnight charging cycle.

My concern here is that running the CPU hard is going to raise the internal temperature of the phone/tablet. I hope that they’ve considered this and designed the software to monitor the internal temperature. I’m going to try it out on my tablet to see if there is an issue here.

Original playstion

I’ll never forget the original playstion, greatest thing ever, so many good games, still have a lot of them in storage. Thinking back to these early consoles it amazes me how much harder games were back then. I would dare some of the kids these days to play crash bandicoot, 3D was a new thing, so angles were tough, the camera didn’t rotate well, and you didn’t have a health bar that would regenerate after time. You could say the same for almost all platformers back in the 90’s.

Cradlepoint router

I use a Cradlepoint router, that acts like a repeater, the router costs about the same as a repeater, and can be used as both a router and a repeater, so it seems to me to be a better deal. If your router dies, you have a backup, visit www.19216801.pw, you will find the router setting is simple.

I am traveling the states in a camper and am usually able to rely on campground wifi signals, but my aluminum trailer reduces the signal. So, I stick my router in my window, pointed at the campground’s router, and I use the Wifi as Wan function on my router. It pulls in the signal and repeats it inside my camper. It has doubled the speed at my current location.
